Today's original plan was to buy some groceries and go to a postal outlet (not the post office - they're closed on Sundays silly).

Today I got a call from my mom. Actually a voice message because I was still in bed. When I phoned her five minutes after I lied and said I was in the shower. Anyway...let's talk about timing. The reason she called was to tell me that my grandfather died TODAY. He had a stroke on Thursday. Actually this death doesn't bother me at all because he's really old and I didn't really like him. And my mom wasn't crying so that's OK. But back to the timing. I phoned my sister to see if she talked to mom. She said that she did - mom called her right after she found out. We discussed the timing of it. Anyway, here it is: he died between 11 and 11:30 AM their time. My family there is eight hours ahead, so that would be between 3 and 3:30 AM here. *I* was born at 3:41 AM. Freaky coincidence?

So anyway, my sister said that I should do something fun today like go to Death By Chocolate to get a yummy slice of cake. I liked that idea and was planning to go...except when I walked into the livingroom Roomie had a big ol' slab of cake waiting for me. She's so sweet.

I went on a shopping spree for myself. I bought myself a Jostein Gaarder book, a beautiful pewter and crystal windchime that I'm going to put up in my room and I ordered Go from a puzzle and game store. They had just run out so mine will come in a couple of weeks.

This year I made sure not to go to Red Robins. It's a tradition I would like to end.

Now I must go and read my horoscope.
